Some engagement shoots follow the expected path, golden fields, soft light, matching linen. This was not one of those shoots, and we loved every second of it.

This Brisbane bride came with a clear vision and the confidence to match. Bold, self-assured, and entirely her own person, she chose Parliament House in Brisbane as the backdrop for her engagement session, and it suited her perfectly. A tailored blazer, sharp styling, and an attitude that needed no direction.

We were escorted through the grounds by security, which only added to the editorial energy of the day. Inside the historic library, floor-to-ceiling shelves of aged books framed some of the most striking portraits we have photographed in Brisbane. The light was dim, the atmosphere quietly commanding, and the no-touch rule made every frame feel even more considered.

From the library we moved to the rooftop, where Brisbane's skyline opened up behind us and the mood shifted, still confident, but warmer. Candid smiles, open light, and a bride completely at ease in front of the camera.

This session is a reminder that the best engagement shoots are an extension of who you actually are. If you are drawn to architecture, history, and something a little unexpected, Brisbane has no shortage of extraordinary locations beyond the typical park or botanical garden.
